Thompson | Currier Changes Name to Aspen Risk Management Group (Aspen RMG)

Thompson | Currier announced today that the Company’s shareholders and board of directors approved a name change to Aspen Risk Management Group (Aspen RMG).

06.13.06   Polestar is pleased to announce the additions of Cathi Marx and Dan Hopwood to the Polestar Team. Cathi and Dan join Steve Thompson and West Coast Team Leader Richard Coskren in San Diego and formally establish our West Coast operation. In making the announcement, Coskren stated that “our strategic partnership with Thompson | Currier in San Diego combined with our alliance with the Insurance Educational Association (IEA) in San Francisco provides us with the logistical coverage and coaching cadre needed to support our rapidly growing list of West Coast clientele.” Polestar Founder, Scott M. Primiano added, “the additions of Cathi and Dan to the team and our formal presence in California represents the third and final phase of our national expansion. With offices in Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, and now in San Diego, we have achieved our goal of national coverage with regionalized service and support.”
03.29.06   Cathi Marx received the Pacific Safety Council’s Champion of Safety Award - San Diego for her dedication to the community, commitment to safety, and for preventing injuries.  Cathi is a volunteer in the community – donating her time to write and implement safety programs for non-profits and charity organizations. She has served on a number of local non-profit Boards as a volunteer safety and security officer, and has a long history of community safety work.

03.03.06   Thompson | Currier solidifies its relationship with ConAPA by announcing a joint effort to further develop Member safety services.  Long time and new strategic partners will be holding its first official strategy meeting on March 16, 2006 in Del Mar, California.  ConAPA's purpose is to aid the small business community by offering various services, including programs that drastically reduce workers' compensation costs and improve workplace safety.
02.28.06   Cait Casey and Steve Thompson become Certified Trainers in the Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) program.
02.01.06   Thompson | Currier is happy to announce that Theresa "TK" Kelly has joined the firm as a risk and safety consultant.  "TK has a stellar record as a top notch safety professional and we are very excited that she will be joining us," states Steve Thompson.  "She has been a mentor to many in the safety industry, and has always been in the safety business for the right reasons -- helping to prevent workplace injuries and to create safer workplaces."  TK joins Ann Towle-Mason, Cait Casey, Dan Hopwood, Cathi Marx, and Steve Thompson on the risk and safety service team.
01.16.06   Cait Casey to teach the OSHA 10 Construction course for large construction company in Del Mar, CA - scheduled for 2/4 and 2/18.  She will also begin the Safety Orientation program for ConAPA Members in late February.  ConAPA's purpose is to aid the small business community by offering various services, including programs that have saved business owners on their workers' compensation costs.
01.28.06   Steve Thompson completes first coaching assignment with Polestar Performance Programs (www.gopolestar.com) at the Chubb Producer Performance Development Program in San Diego, CA.  Polestar, a nationally recognized insurance industry performance development company, provides personal coaching for sales, service, and underwriting professionals in the insurance industry.
01.16.06   Cathi Marx to teach the Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) program for the Pacific Safety Council from 1/23 to 1/27.  Cathi continues to be among the few qualified instructors throughout the nation to deliver this comprehensive program.
12.16.05   Thompson | Currier among finalists for opportunity to conduct specialized training (equal opportunity development classes for small contractors) for the San Diego County Water Authority.  Speaking on behalf of Thompson | Currier, Camille Currier stated: "Although we were not ultimately chosen, we owe much thanks to Paul Stout of Power Summit www.powersummit.com for helping and partnering with us in our efforts.  We would not have made it to the finals without Paul, and we look forward to working with him on other opportunities."

08.31.05   Camille Currier to serve as Chair for Advisory Board of the School of International Business, San Diego City Schools (SIB).  The SIB program is designed to produce innovative and culturally aware leaders in business, government, and non-profit organizations.
08.15.05   Camille Currier is assisting two non-profits (as a volunteer) in an effort to create Web Site Sponsorship Programs for each of their respective organizations.  The program helps nonprofit organizations introduce web site sponsorship opportunities to its supporters.  The two groups we are currently working with include: Flags across the Nation (www.flagsacrossthenation.org), and Survivors of Suicide Loss (www.sossd.org).

07.15.05   Camille Currier and Steve Thompson author the article "A Shareholder Solution for Workers' Compensation in California." The article, appearing in Leading Companies Online Magazine, outlines ConAPA's (a small contractor association in California) efforts to create an effective health and workers' compensation program through employee ownership.
06.30.05   Cait Casey completes both the OSHA 501 and 500 courses to become a trainer with OSHA Outreach for both the 10 and 30-hour program.
04.30.05   Thompson | Currier announces strategic alliance with HR Source Consulting, Inc. to provide consulting and training on a wide variety of organizational and human resource issues, including HR management, assessments/audits, policy development, employee relations, and performance management.  This new alliance allows us to offer the new 2-hour required training program (required for companies with 50 or more employees, or independent contractors).  Click here to learn more about the California Sexual Harassment Prevention Training Program.
04.28.05   The Workers' Compensation Consortium (Steve Thompson and Camille Currier are founding Members) form a new alliance with Chapman University to add new Workers' Compensation Adjuster Training Programs, and jointly develop a military transition program ("WC Adjusters Boot Camp") for former military personnel looking to enter the insurance industry.  Continuing partners on the this project include the Insurance Educational Association and BCG Insurance.
04.21.05   Steve Thompson chosen as co-author for the new Safety and Health book to be published by Sybex Publishing's Harbor Light Press division.  He will be co-writing with Dan Hopwood of Sullivan Risk Services.  The new publication will be designed for Human Resource Professionals and Small to Medium businesses.  It is scheduled for a November 2005 release.

04.13.05   Cait Casey and Steve Thompson deliver its first "Safety Orientation" to Members of ConAPA.  ConAPA is a California Corporation whose purpose is to aid the small business community by offering various services, including corporate formation, consulting management training, employee relations, safety training, Health, Disability and Life benefit packages, dental and vision care programs and liability insurance, among other benefits. Through the ConAPA Program , business owners are saving as much as 50% to 80% on their Workers' Compensation costs, while providing improved benefits to their valued team members.
04.08.05   Camille Currier and Steve Thompson present "Increasing Sales and Retaining Customers Through Value Added Services" to the Professional Women in Insurance.  The Professional Women in Insurance, in addition to supporting charity causes such as InVEST and the YMCA's Battered Women's "Shelter, is dedicated to support of women in the insurance industry.
04.06.05   Thompson | Currier partner with California State San Marcos Student Interns to mentor them in a company strategic marketing research project.  A big thank you to the three seniors on the team:  Ronny De Long, Claude "Jeff" Herron, and Matt Leventhal!
04.04.05   Camille Currier, former Community Advisory Board Member with the Center for Community Economic Development (CCED), participates in students' final project presentations.  The CCED develops business skills in people who have a heart for the community. Since its inception in 1995, the CCED has graduated over 200 students through its award-winning Community Economic Development (CED) Certificate Program.
